Our Story

Founded in the early 90s by a group of high school students, Microimage is perhaps the most successful high school software start-up company in Sri Lanka to date. It was started as a hobbyists’ club by a group of high school students back in 1993. With the success of their initial local language software product, it was incorporated in 1995 as Microimage (Private) Limited in Colombo, Sri Lanka. From humble beginnings as a desktop language software provider, today the company has transformed into a group of ventures with primary business interest in Human Capital Management Solutions. The holding company also have business interest in Broadcast/Media & Digital Technology. Today, Microimage is a global player with ventures in Malaysia, Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The company has offices in Colombo, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne.

MiHCM (formerly known as Microimage HCM) is a proven, agile and respected provider of world class HR Software solutions with a client list of over 600 companies in varied industries. Strong partner network of MiHCM has positioned the product in over 10 countries across the Middle East to Asia Pacific region.

In 2014, to strengthen its regional presence, Microimage established its first regional operations through a JV with Public Listed Malaysian tech Conglomerate OMESTI BHD and formed MiHCM Asia Sdn Bhd based in Malaysia. MiHCM Asia combines the financial strength and business network of the Omesti Group together with the extensive and proven HR domain-centric R&D expertise of Microimage Sri Lanka. MiHCM Asia is the ASEAN headquarters for marketing, sales, channel management, implementation and post implementation support services for the region.

In 2007 Microimage diversified into mobile media solutions by incorporating Microimage Mobile Media (Pvt) Ltd. Establishing its formal presence as a fully owned subsidiary of Microimage Holdings, today the company has become a pioneer in Broadcast/Media Software applications and powers all the key broadcast/media stations in Sri Lanka and number of other regional broadcasters. Also Microimage Mobile Media holds IP for DEWN – Disaster and Emergency Warning Network developed together with Dialog Axiata (Sri Lanka’s premier Mobile Operator) & University of Moratuwa Mobile Research Lab. This is a solution which provides emergency warning for all stakeholders including citizens for any imminent natural or man made disaster.

In 2015, Microimage invested in the digital business startup Antyra Solutions. Antyra was founded by two digital marketing veterans together with Microimage as the founding startup investor.
