Microimage, Sri
Lankan software engineering company, has clinched a contract to
provide its Human Resource Information System (HRIS) to Dhiraagu
Telecom of the Maldives. The project which begins in June 2005
is scheduled to be completed within six months.
"Microimage won this contract over intense competition from a
number of foreign IT solution providers. Dhiraagu evaluated
proposals for about a year before taking the decision to award
the contract to us," said Harsha Purasinghe, CEO of Microimage.
The award-winning Microimage, is a 100% Sri Lankan owned
company. In April 2005, Dialog GSM and Microimage launched
Sinhala and Tamil mobile portals, which were hailed as a major
breakthrough in local language access to the mobile Internet.
Microimage now adds Dhiraagu to an impressive list of Human
Capital clients that includes Dialog Telekom, HSBC, DFCC, Hemas
Holdings, Cargills, Rocell, Lanka Bell, World Vision, APL Lanka,
and FDK Lanka. Dhiraagu is the national telecommunications
carrier of the Maldives, providing fixed line access to all 200
islands in the country. Dhiraagu offers a comprehensive range of
fixed, mobile, Internet and data services throughout the
Maldives and has a workforce of over 500.
"We at Microimage are keen to offer our considerable product
portfolio to other Maldivian companies through our business
partner in the Maldives," added Purasinghe.
"The Microimage HCM4 system provides advanced e-HR technology
and best HR practices that conform to the corporate requirements
of Dhiraagu Telecom," said Purasinghe. "It also allows us the
flexibility to customize it to Dhiraagu's needs."
Microimage has gained an impressive record of accomplishments
since its inception nine years ago. It made a splash at the BCS
National Best Quality Software Awards 2004 by winning two more
prestigious awards -a Gold and Silver. Microimage had earlier
won a Merit Award for Human Capital Software Product at the
inaugural BCS Awards in 1998,and in 2003 won a Special Gold
Award for Software Localisation at the same awards.
Microimage HCM 4 is designed to simulate the expert HR
reasoning ability of decision-makers by assisting them to draw
conclusions from reliable, accurate, and analytical facts and
figures.
